What is a light passport?

A light passport is the single source of truth for the lighting of a show — the rig, the cues, the patches, the focus, the timings and the notes. LightBookShow turns that documentation into a structured, portable, editable file that travels with the production.

Core features

What LightBookShow can do for lighting designers, ops and touring crews.

  1. 01

    Fixture catalogue

A full card for every fixture: 16:9 photo, DMX channel / Universe / address, exact position, type and colour mixing, gel or gobo, focus notes.

  2. 02

    Smart fixture-type picker

Built-in catalogue of 200+ types — Static / Moving / FX — with filters by category, manufacturer and colour system (WW, TW, RGB, RGBW, RGBAL and more). Custom fixtures supported.

  3. 03

    In-theatre geolocation

Quick position picker: LX, Pipe, Boom, FOH Bridge, Tower — with number, side (SL/SR/C), height and a free-form note. All on one line per tile.

  4. 04

    Photo & voice notes

Take a shot from inside the app. Dictate focus notes by voice — no keyboard needed.

  5. 05

    Shows & repertoire

Several shows in one app. Switch between productions, with a separate fixture list for each.

  6. 06

    Presets & cues

Store light scenes and cue lists. Quick access from a fixture's card or from its own screen.

  7. 07

    Import & export

Export your data to hand over to the team or to archive the production.

  8. 08

    Designed for the dark

A grandMA3-style interface — dark palette, large buttons. Works on stage in minimal light.
